Live @ Linko: Maja Mannila Trio

Maja Mannila is an impressive young jazz/soul singer, pianist and composer. With her band, she performs her own songs in English, which are a mix of r’n’b, soul, jazz and gospel music. 

Raised in a family of musicians, she has a firm grasp on making music, while emphasizing the importance of freedom and fun in creating and playing music. In the future, Mannila aims for an international courier both with a band and as a solo artist. 

Maja has been recorded by English drummer Richard Spaven and singer Anthony Strong, who have asked Maja to perform with them. Severi Sorjonen (drums) and Johannes Granroth (bass) make music with Mannila in the Maja Mannila Trio; The band was selected for the 2023 Nordic Jazz Comets event to represent Finnish new jazz. Maja also plays and sings in the young up-and-coming band Peela. In 2021-22, she performed in Iiro Rantala’s Flock lineup, touring Central Europe.
