X Dance Festival

XDF is an inclusive dance festival celebrating multifarious (many and various) representations of body / mind in dance.

The festival theme of MULTIPLICITY aims to invite curiosity of what happens when we give equal value, measure and agency to all bodies. This theme creates space for movement expression and exchange within multidimensional fields of information. In turn this ultimately affects how we perceive ourselves and each other. XDF’s unique perspective invites the dance field to grow beyond ableism in who can dance and what dance can be.

The 2023 program includes performances, dance films, workshops, a panel discussion and conversations.

X Dance Festival is a co-operation between DanceAbility Finland ry and Kaaos Company who are dedicated to active engagement and responsiveness to conversations about inclusion and accessibility in dance through educational and artistic interventions.
