The Ukrainian Ballet: The Nutcracker

The Ukrainian Ballet performs Pyotr Tchaikovsky's classic ballet The Nutcracker at the Alexander Theatre.

The libretto is an adaptation of the well-known E.T.A Hoffmann story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Thanks to Tchaikovsky's magical music and Petipa's wonderful choreography, this fascinating story of a girl, the Mouse King and the brave Nutcracker Prince will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

This ballet has been performed countless times over the years. The performance offers a unique opportunity to go back in time a century and see the classic version of the ballet in all its splendor. 

The Ukrainian ballet group includes ballet dancers from leading theaters in Ukraine. The performance offers classic ballet scenes, variations and pas de deux created to highlight the grandeur of the classical choreographic heritage.
