The Rhythm of Light

Heikki Tuuli's composition concert features new compositions for piano, string quartet and percussion instruments.

The rhythm of light is Heikki Tuuli's second composition concert - the first was at Hietsu Paviljonki in 2019.

Heikki Tuuli is a photographer who is especially known for his photos of classical music for almost forty years. He has been interested in music since he was young and in 2014 he started composition studies under Jon Maury. 

In terms of style, his music is atonal, rhythmically powerful and clearly shaped chamber music - the influences of minimalism and progressive rock are easily noticeable.

The concert will feature new compositions – cello played in many ways, odd songs for piano and a work for string quartet and drums inspired by cartoons. Plus there are some older songs in the form of videos.
