The Finnish Defense Forces' church concert will take place on January 17, 2024 in Helsinki Cathedral at 18.00.

The Finnish Defense Forces' church concert will take place on January 17, 2024 in Helsinki Cathedral at 18.00.

The church concert has previously been held in the form of a church celebration. The event, traditionally held in January, will in the future be called the Defense Forces' church Concert. This year, the theme of the concert is "an evening of words and music".

The music of the church concert program is provided by the Kaarti band led by Music Commander Timo Kotilainen, Chief Conductor of the Defense Forces. The oboist Silja Ratilainen acts as a soloist. The program includes both domestic and foreign musical works from different eras. In addition to music, the event will also include an ecumenical prayer and a speech held by the field bishop of the Finnish Defense Forces, Pekka Asikainen.
