A symphony combines instruments, singing and technology. First showing of a new work!
A symphony combines instruments, singing and technology. First showing of a new work!
The primary theme of Tero Väänänen's Sinfonia has been complete freedom of expression. Therefore, intense radiophony was chosen as the method: a combination of acoustic and electronic instruments in stereo, spiced up with singing that has been altered with the extensive opportunities of studio technology and sound libraries.
Sinfonia has been written with a strong narrative, the opening of which in this premiere is supported by a video, made by the composer himself. This one-piece work’s duration is 42 minutes. The authors will be interviewed before the performance, and the evening will also feature the musicians that played for the recording.
Tero Väänänen has studied composition at the University of Helsinki and the Sibelius Academy, as well as
in private. Sinfonia is his sixth album release. There is also an arrangement of Sinfonia for a symphonic orchestra. Sinfonia CDs are on sale at the event.
