SunJazz: JAF Trio (FI/DK)

JAF Trio is a Finnish-Danish band featuring saxophonist Adele Sauros (FI), bassist Joonas (FI) Tuuri and drummer Frederik Emil Bülow (DK). After a string of lauded live perfor mances over the past couple of years (the band was awarded the “We Jazz Rising Star” accolade at We Jazz Festival in 2017), the band recorded their debut album JAF Trio: JAF Trio (We Jazz Records 2020). The debut album got great reviews and the band had a big record release tour in Finland on Autumn 2020. The trio recorded their second album in Denmark where they also toured on February 2022. The album will be released in 2024.

JAF Trio’s music is originals composed by each member of the group. The music is very intense and rhythmical, melodic and interactive. In the music there’s freedom that gives space for the creativity of each player and brings up everyone’s strengths. The band plays often fast-paced, various changing time signatures in high intensity, which takes the liste ner to an exciting travel of ups and downs, like in a roller coaster.
