Georg Philipp Telemann was one of the most successful and wealthiest German Baroque composers. He had a bold and seemingly impossible idea: writing a collection of polyphonically conceived solo pieces for flute, even though the flute is a monophonic melody instrument. This led to the creation of the 12 Fantasias, which have firmly established itself in the essential repertoire of flute music.

Sami Junnonen is the only Finnish flutist of his generation to have established an international solo career. His diverse repertoire encompasses a wide range from early music to the latest compositions. Junnonen's Telemann recording for the English label Resonus Classics, which has received accolades, will have its official release concert at the Finnish House of Nobility (Ritarihuone). This unique venue provides an ideal atmosphere and acoustics for solo flute.
