Runoen’s performance will feature works by classical poets (Kailas, Leino, Kivi, and Södergran) with new arrangements composed by pianist Juha Granlund. Vocals: Satu Mattila; vocals and violin: Tamara Vanhanen; vocals and bass guitar: Esa Hiltunen; and piano: Juha Granlund. The evening’s concert will begin with Merituuli.
Merituuli is a band of two guitarists/singers who play soulful and simultaneously very catchy folk-pop. At the core of the band are twin sisters Meri and Tuuli Wallenius, who write their own songs. The band has released three albums (2015, 2017, 2023) and one EP (2019).
Their music floats in the realms of evocative folk, artistic pop-rock and Merituuli’s very own style. The band is currently working on their next album. Its first single and music video will be released on 13 October.
