Photofuss: Do You Feel It Too?

Kaapeliaukio 3, 00180 Helsinki
Finnish Museum of Photography

Photofuss’s group exhibition uses photography to visualize obstacles that challenge the realization of freedom

Photofuss’s group exhibition uses photography to visualize obstacles that challenge the realization of freedom, as well as alternative ways of being and overcoming contradictions towards freedom.

At the same time, it is also an exhibition where we consider the possibilities of photography to describe the surrounding and inner world. An attempt has been made to break the boundaries between photographers in the exhibition by means of hanging.

In the exhibition, you can also listen to the soundscape connecting the works. It is a multilingual mosaic that explores freedom through the dreams and fears of the members of the Photofuss group. The sound piece tunes the viewer to the frequency, in the light and shadow of which the photographs in the exhibition were created. Linus Grönroos and Karun Verma have been responsible for the sound design of the piece.

Photofuss is the Finnish Museum of Photography's in-house collective of young artists. The group was formed to provide rising talents the opportunity to carry out photocultural phenomena through collaborative artistry. Their activities are based in experimentation and exploration, guided by collective conceptions, ideas, and interests.
