Mara Oscar Cassiani: Be Water My Friends
May a club be considered an entire habitat of diversity?
May a club be considered an entire habitat of diversity?
You are all called to join the experience of this dance floor.
Traditional hypnotic steps from the Italian golden age of the so-called Balera , crash into the present daily life, to celebrate the dancefloor as a habitat of diversity.
The dance performed by people of different ages and biographies becomes a safe place for expression and coexistence .
According to her own poetry of the “Unity in the raveology” and crossing it with the power of the traditional elements of the Italian balera group balls, the artist Mara Oscar Cassiani with a crew of co creators from the local community, creates a big group dance. A living dance floor to celebrate identities and diversity; the group dance becomes the turning point and the choreographic sign of union of our stories, bodies, biographies. A community based workshop for locals and a final dance floor to celebrate the unity in diversity.
Mara Oscar Cassiani’s workshops will offer a space in which to discover oneself’s uniqueness through the power of the movement. The workshops culminates to Be Water My Friends performances in Kiasma.
The workshops are open to all over 14-years old, no training is required, just open-mindedness, a sense of rhythm and pace.
