Lauri Markkanen - Finland's First NBA Star

An exhibition about the basketball player Lauri Markkanen is on display at the Cultural Centre of Sports Tahto during the summer.

The Finnish NBA basketball star Lauri Markkanen did a real cultural act by donating the jersey he used in the NBA All Stars game to the Cultural Centre of Sports Tahto. 

In February 2023, Markkanen was selected for the NBA All Stars game as the first Nordic player of all time, and in the same year he was the first basketball player in Finland to be selected as The Sportsman of the Year.

The shirt can be seen in this exhibition and afterwards, the shirt will get a place in the museum's permanent collections.
