This art workshop for 1st and 2nd graders aims to approach the forest as a physical experience.
What is it like to be a tree? What sound does a mycelium make?
In the workshop, you enter the forest to identify with its diverse life by combining physical art work and natural science. We study different parts of the forest and immerse ourselves in the fascinating interactions and cycles of forest organisms through shared exercises. The aim of the workshop is to foster the pupils' relationship with nature through positive insights and experiences, as well as to increase their knowledge of forest nature and its significance.
The workshop instructors are Kaisa-Liisa Logrén and Heli Mäkinen, from the Toisissa Tiloissa performance art group. The group, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, creates physical exercises with the idea of visiting the experiences of other species.
The workshop will be held in the gallery of Cultural Centre Stoa and in the nearby Matokallio forest.
