Familiar and beloved classics and unprecedented soundscapes. Baroque music, beloved classics and the cutting edge of contemporary approaches to music.
Imaginative passion tells the musical story of the Easter season in a new way. It creates a unique listening experience by weaving together different and varying interconnected musical numbers: orchestral parts, electroacoustic improvisation, vocals, contemporary classics and Renaissance and Baroque music, performed on both old and new instruments. The concert spans the arc of drama through the means of music, from the Palm Sunday hosanna through the silent week of suffering and death to the joy of the resurrection.
Designed and led by one of Finland's leading early music specialists, harpsichordist and conductor Matias Häkkinen, this concept brings on the stage stellar and versatile musicians of baroque orchestra Ensemble Nylandia and avant-garde contemporary music collective Tölöläb.
