Helsinki Folk Weekend

Helsinki Folk Party is expanding into a three-day event called Helsinki Folk Weekend in Tapanila district, promising high-quality folk music.

On Friday, there will be an atmospheric, calm, and intimate Perinnearkku Club with a dream theme.

On Saturday during the day, you'll hear banjo- and fiddle-driven bluegrass and old-time music led by the Finnish Bluegrass Music Association.

Saturday evening is the time to put on your dancing shoes and join the Nordic Dance folk dance workshop! The event is beginner-friendly and requires no prior dance experience. Saturday evening will culminate with a performance by Luomuduo, a touring band from the Folk Music Union.

On Sunday during the day, there will be a free and open-to-all music workshop and jam session led by Verna Kylmänen. Bring your instrument and learn to play Finnish folk music!
