12 am Pikku Papun Orkesteri
Pikku Papun Orkesteri will kick off Vuotalo’s Helsinki Day!

Pikku Papun Orkesteri is a band that writes, arranges and performs children’s music and received the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation award in 2018. The band writes its bean songs in cooperation with author-illustrator Liisa Kallio. Pikku Papu Orchestra’s concert will also allow for the youngest members of the family to take part in singing and games. Cries of joy and dancing are allowed and even welcomed!

1.30 pm FlipFlop – finlandswedish children´s music band
FlipFlop is a Finnish-Swedish children’s music band that plays cheerful and upbeat music, which is also thought-provoking and evocative. FlipFlopin plays songs across a variety of genres in Swedish and Finnish.

5 pm Marion Rung – 50 years from Tom Tom
The concert will feature Marion’s biggest hits, such as El Bimbo, Eviva Espanja and Tipi-tii.
Marion will also talk about her life, tell stories and perform rarer songs from her albums. Marion’s long, diverse and successful career began in the 1960s. In 2023, Marion will performing with her own band Prostyles.

6.30 pm Yeboyah & Figaro
Singer-songwriter Figaro released his debut album ‘Näin mä haluun sut muistaa’ in June 2022. The multi-talented musician is in the roster of Etenee Records and combines elements of a variety of genres in his sensitive songs. Yeboyah is a Helsinki-based artist, social influencer and trailblazer for the future. She kicked off her solo career with the Broflake single released in 2017. As the only artist on Helsingin Sanomat’s list of people to follow in 2021, she has made sure that there is plenty to keep an eye out for.

In June, a world map game will be painted on the ground in the inner courtyard of Vuotalo. The game involves adventuring around the world, performing a variety of tasks.

The players themselves will act as the game pieces on the board and move from point to point according to the rules of the game. You can take part in planning the game at the workshop point in the Vuotalo lobby 01/04–16/07. According to the opening hours of Vuotalo. The actual game will be painted on the courtyard in June during the open workshops of the Helsinki Urban Art association. The times will be announced later. The game will be complete by Helsinki Day on 12.6.2023.

The children’s mobile library Stoori will visit Helsinki Day, making stories and nursery rhymes accessible to everyone!

10 and 11 am Jo’s Punch & Judy Show – Helsinki Day Special!
Iconic glove-puppet show from London returns to Vuotalo in classic English seaside style!
Unique and exciting street-theatre for children big and small. Come see the famous Mr. Punch ride again with Judy and a traditional cast of friends, including Joey the Clown and Hector the Horse. An urban novelty so old it’s new and still keeps kids enthralled!

1-3 pm June art workshop: Flower wreaths
To celebrate Helsinki Day, wild flower wreaths or bracelets will be made in the art workshop to be held in the lower courtyard of Vuotalo or in the lobby, in case of heavy rain or a hale storm. The workshop is suitable for children and adults. The workshop will be instructed by Chloé Mahy-Hulkko in Finnish, French and English

2-4 pm Croquis under the rowans
Itä-Helsingin taideseura arts association will take part in Helsinki Day by organising a workshop! The workshop will involve model drawing using the fast croquis technique. You will need a sketchpad and a drawing tool of your choice.
