The Finnish-Swedish folk music group Halsbrytarna (literally meaning “The Neckbreakers”– a play on words involving the Swedish terms for “fiddle neck” and “breakneck”) is celebrating its 50 + 1 -year anniversary with a concert in March.
The concert commemorates the Master Folk Musician Ricke Mette, who led the group for 46 unforgettable years. The programme includes virtuosic fiddle tunes by Ricke Mette, all-time favourites from the group’s rich repertoire of Nordic folk music and dance performances by folk dancers from the Helsinki region. The evening ends with the audience having the opportunity to dance to the music of Halsbrytarna.
