Global Club Nights: Faso Kan | The Shameless Shongololo Band

Global Club Nights (GCN) is a club series where people who deal and work with music gather with those who love and enjoy it, to celebrate and create a safe, inclusive and creative environment.

With live music, radio shows, seminars and workshops, the events attempt to build bridges between all music lovers and their communities.

Global Club Nights (GCN) is produced in collaboration with the Global music Department of Sibelius Academy and Cultural Centre Caisa.

Faso Kan
Faso Kan’s new album Tungaladen (Adventurer) highlights elements from West African music and storytelling tradition. In griot families the wisdom of the ancestors has been passed from generation to generation during centuries in the form of stories, music and dances. Each member of the band brings their musical adventures and expertice into the mix. The shared love for music results in a musical meeting of diverse cultures, the past, and the future.

The Shameless Shongololo Band
The shameless band Shongololo organic grooves and shameless disco beats, mighty horns and haunting vocals! This nine-piece orchestra led by Finnish–South Africa singer-flutist Ayla Brinkmann brings to life a unique sound seldom heard live in Scandinavia. The Shongololo (isXhosa, isiZulu: millipede) is an unstoppable shiny fellow who walks the earth with many many legs.
