The powerful Catamorphosis by Anna Thorvaldsdottir focuses on our delicate relationship to our planet. Richard Strauss encountered his personal dystopia amid the ruins of the Second World War. The culture he so loved having been ravaged by the war, the aged Richard Strauss turned to nostalgia for a world now lost in his Four Last Songs. The spring 2024 season of the FRSO ends amid breath-taking mountain scenery, with Strauss’s Alpine Symphony.
