Cristina Branco, the singer with one of the most beautiful voices in Portuguese music, will perform in Finland in the autumn!

Cristina Branco is one of the most important Portuguese artists of recent decades.

She kicked off her career in the Netherlands with Cristina Branco in Holland (1997), which became a hit in the country. In the coming years, Cristina exploded onto the music scene and sold out concerts in countless cities. Her rocket-like rise to fame was solidified by the following releases Murmúrios (1998) and Post-Scriptum (2000).

However, it took until later albums, such as Sensus (2003), for Portuguese audiences to find Branco. This led to the album Abril (2007), which features covers of José Afonso’s songs, and Fado Tango (2011), which was made in collaboration with famous Portuguese authors. Fado Tango foreshadowed Cristina’s artistic rebirth, which came in the form of the album Menina.

Menina (2016), which was deemed the album of the year by the Portuguese Society of Authors, is part of a trilogy, which also includes Branco (2018) and Eva (2020). These works involved Cristina combining a variety of unconventional forms of collaboration, which led to innovative interpretations of Fado music. Since the release of Eva, Cristina has sold out concerts throughout Europe.

In 2022, she celebrated her 25-year career. To commemorate this momentous occasion, she also released a new album Amoras numa Tarde de Outono, which she made in cooperation with the pianist João Paulo Esteves da Silva.
