CIRCULATION – spatial sculptures

Kirkkokatu 18, 00170 Helsinki
The Cathedral Crypt

The joint exhibition of four sculptors encourages us to understand the fragility of life and appreciate its diversity and cycle.

The theme of the joint exhibition of the four sculptors – the cycle of life – symbolizes the continuous flow and change in nature and the cyclical nature of life from birth to death. This concept encourages us to understand the fragility of life and appreciate its diversity and the harmony of the cycle.

Hanna Galtat creates works from observations, memory and meanings in time, place and matter. Her multidisciplinary background is reflected in her interest in different environments and techniques in three-dimensional expression.

In her works, Miisa Hatakka deals with various materials, emphasizing fragility and loneliness in the crowd. The sparse color scale of the works creates an atmosphere and deepens the message of the works.

Johanna Ilvessalo builds multi-sensory spatial works that reflect the hardness and fragility of life and the human mind. Recurring materials in her work, such as steel, glass and flowing water, create a metaphor for the diversity of life.

Tiina-Liisa Kaalamo uses natural and recycled materials in her art, finding inspiration in the forest. Her works respect nature's own design, and convey strength and harmony.
