Artists Talking event with visual artist Meri Helmi Särkkä will be held in April at Yö Galleria.

Artists Talking is a unique conversation series in English, created in collaboration with contemporary artists working in Finland. After each discussion, the audience and artists can discuss the themes in more depth in a free-form event.

Meri Helmi Särkkä (formerly Mariam Haji) is a Bahraini interdisciplinary visual artist who currently lives and works in Porvoo. She works with different media from drawing and painting to video and performance.

In 2021, Mariam represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at Mänttä Art Festival in Finland. She also represented her country as Mariam Haji at the 55th Venice Biennale 2013 and won the 38th Bahrain National Art Competition for her "Muse" series,being the youngest female artist to receive an honorary award from the Prime Minister of Bahrain.
