The Artemis cultural centres were established in 1977. Since then, more than 2,000 residents of Leros Island have taken part in the activities. The most important focuses of the association are dance, folk tradition research, chess, theatre, choir singing and music. Artemis has published books, records and films that have increased awareness of Greek culture and Leros far beyond the country’s borders. Artemis organises a variety of seminars, festivals and conferences each year in cooperation with many institutions, such as universities.
This summer, the Artemis group will bring a folk music and dance performance to Vuotori outside Vuotalo where they will perform together with the group Danskompassen from Helsinki.
Duration apx 60 min.
