Arabia Kaikuu: Sing It with Flowers – flowers as useful plants and poetic symbols

The symbolism of plants and flowers has inspired many lied composers. Organised in collaboration with Hyötykasviyhdistys (The Association of Useful Plants), this concert builds a bridge between the symbolic and the tangible. 

The concert includes a discussion ranging from floral symbolism in poetry to the use of flowers in cooking between vocal music lecturer Ulla Raiskio and living food instructor Katri Laurimaa. During the concert, you can also enjoy floral snacks prepared by Katri.

The event is part of the Arabia Kaikuu Festival which celebrates Finnish lied music. The performers of the festival are students, alumni, teachers, and friends of Metropolia UAS.
