Angelika Klas - 25 vuotta LAULUN JUHLAA!

Angelika Klas celebrates her diverse career with a 25th anniversary concert that takes the audience on a journey through her and the audience’s favourite songs, from classics of opera and operetta to the evergreens, jazz and, of course, the wonderful classics of Argentine tango.

Joining her on the stage will be the brilliant vocal artists Marion Melnik and Hannu Lehtonen, and the virtuosic Janne Hovi Trio will be responsible for the accompaniment. The evening will be hosted by legendary piano artist and presenter Seppo Hovi, who will tell stories of Angelika’s life and career and weave them together with the songs with golden threads. In conjunction with the concert, Angelika will also release her 25th-anniversary album “Laulun Juhlaa”!

Soprano Angelika Klas is known as a particularly versatile artist. Her wide repertoire ranges from opera, orchestral and chamber music to musical theatre, tango and even jazz. Her charismatic stage presence and impressive interpretations are part of her captivating artistic personality. Angelika’s extensive career spans many musical styles from baroque to contemporary music, from small chamber music stages to large arenas, and from operatic and operetta roles to musicals. She is also known as a unique interpreter of Argentine tango and Astor Piazzolla’s vocal music.

The other performers in the concert represent Finland’s absolute musical elite.

Seppo Hovi is known both as an accomplished pianist and as a speaker through his extensive and diverse concert and television career. In this concert, his colourful stories will weave together Angelika’s life, career and music with golden threads.

Soprano Marion Melnik is an accomplished opera singer who has performed at the Finnish National Opera, the Savonlinna Opera Festival and many concert halls in Finland and abroad. She is also Angelika’s sister, so they have been singing together ever since they were children. There is always something special about their shared performance.

Hannu Lehtonen is known as an interpreter of big emotions, with a charming voice. Every listener will find the songs they love most in the diverse repertoire of the concert hall’s favourite baritone: from touching melodies to fiery Latin rhythms and the gems of entertainment music. Angelika and Hannu have been performing together for years in a wide range of productions, from tango musicals to extensive concert tours and intimate private events.

Piano artist Janne Hovi is also a particularly versatile musician. His repertoire ranges from classical piano music to jazz and lighter music. Angelika and Janne have been working together for a long time on a wide range of performances and projects. In fact, Angelika describes Janne as her pianistic partner.

Mervi Myllyoja is a virtuosic violinist with the ability to immerse herself in different styles and incorporate her own personal improvisation and sound. She, too, is known as a versatile musician. Mervi has performed with Angelika in many concert productions.

Bassist Hannu Rantanen plays in many different ensembles of various styles, ranging from orchestras to small groups. He has played in pop, jazz, fusion jazz, folk music, entertainment music, Latin, flamenco and tango ensembles. Hannu often performs with Angelika in many different concert productions.
