Aishe Vejdani: Lost Future Reimagined

The Lost Future Reimagined project involves an artistic search to envision a future despite the hopelessness caused by a sense of lost future in our time.

Aishe Vejdani traces the sense of lost future in her familial past with sovietisation of Turkmenistan in 1920-1930 and her present with political, social and economic instability, energy and climate crisis.

One can’t help but notice a sense of our present haunted by a lost/cancelled future. This sense of suspension or doom begs the question from each individual in how one can resist it.
