Cantores Minores, boy and alumni soloists and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra perform the St. John Passion as a 300th anniversary performance from the organ loft

This spring, the Cantores Minores boys' choir will perform both of Johann Sebastian Bach's great passions nine days apart, the St. Matthew Passionon Good Friday and the St. John Passion  on 7 April -  300 years after the premiere of the work.

The Passion is performed, just like in Leipzig every year, from the organ loft, the choir is now as small as Bach's, but the Finnish Baroque Orchestra is supported by the great organ of the Cathedral, just like in Leipzig's performances in those days and today. The listener has the opportunity to relive the atmosphere of three hundred years ago - even if you don't hear a sermon lasting more than an hour between parts of the work.
