CACTUS - A monologue play by Renata Litvinova
CACTUS is a striking monologue play by the iconic Renata Litvinova – an actress and screenwriter, she has become a Russian art-house cult figure, and has acquired international acting fame from collaborating with leading European directors.
The play starts with the scene where a woman is packing up to leave with her beloved. She is packing the suitcase, remembering him and her love towards him and under the influence of this love miracles begin to happen. The fact is that she is either a magician or a woman that became mad with love — it’s up to the audience to decide. But her monologue is only for love and her beloved, that she must finally meet.
The music for the play was written by Zemfira – one of Russia’s most prized rock singer-songwriters. While the stunning flamboyant costumes were created by Demna – the creative director of the luxury Balenciaga brand.
