Vallisaari
The island of Vallisaari between Santahamina and Suomenlinna opened up to the public in May 2016. Formerly used by the Finnish Defence Forces, the island offers visitors the chance to enjoy its diverse flora and spectacular views, as well as its well preserved historic fortifications.
Visitors at Vallisaari can use the islands' water points, dry toilets and picnic tables. There is also an excursion harbour and café and restaurant services, as well as tour guide and programme services for groups. Accomodation is possible in Tentsiles by advance booking.
Visitors are expected to stay on the marked trails, Alexander's tour (3km) and Kuninkaansaari Island tour (2,5km).
Waterbus connections are available in summer season 2024 by FRS Finland from the Market Square.
