Kolmikulma – Diana park

Kolmikulma, 00120 Helsinki

Kolmikulma park, or Diana park as it’s also known as, is a small triangular park area in the city centre, surrounded by the streets Yrjönkatu, Uudenmaankatu and Erottajankatu. There’s is a sculpture in the park, Tellervo, Tapion tytär (Tellervo, Tapios daughter) by sculptor Yrjö Liipola from 1928. The statue portraits Tellervo, the goddess of the forest in Finnish mythology, throwing a spear. The sculpture has also been called Diana after the equivalent goddess of the hunt in Roman mythology, and so the park is also commonly known as the Diana park.
