Petri Keckman: Moi!Ohjelmoi!
"In the video that takes 35 minutes, I present about 20 seconds long animations programmed in the REBOL programming language. So there are more than 100 in total. Sounds in the background are also programmed with REBOL programming language.
Algorithmic art is a vocation hobby for me. I remember when I was programming on the 8-bit Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer I bought back in 1983, I was most interested in graphics. A very small printer could be connected to the machine, which printed a print from the screen on special silver-colored paper. I already made my own art exhibition for myself then! I admit that many of my animations are rudimentary and resemble animations from the 80s in terms of technique. This is partly due to the fact that I don't want to take advantage of any program libraries, but I want my outputs to be completely self-generated from the first to the last line of the programming line using the basic graphics commands of the programming language." Antti Halonen & Working Group: Obscure Sorrows
Obscure Sorrows is a video work about living and being together with different nature places.
In these ritual-like encounters, the artists listened to Malla fell, got to know the sniffing sounds of a white-tailed deer, danced on the pebbles of the Kilpisjärvi shore, and were sometimes stopped by a snowstorm, gusts of wind and miraculous shades of color.
In the work, we examine the formation of understanding and connection between the different places and species. This understanding is based on physicality, senses, emotion and imagination. We practice ways of being in the world and observing different forms of life through listening and respect. We pondered how to modify and open our own essence to such frequencies where we resonate together with others?
Working group: dance artists Riina Kalmi and Soile Voima, sound designer Kristian Ekholm and scenographer, visual artist Anttoni Halonen.
