At the Koiton Laulu concert, female composers take on the lead role. The concert’s name evokes the sound of Tellu Turkka’s hurdy-gurdy, and Petra Poutanen has created humorous, extended versions of Finnish classics. Pentti Saaritsa's poem On maailman pinta niin ohut, adapted into music by Eero Ojanen, becomes a cry for the environment.
The other themes of the concert include peace, modern careers and equality, which are mirrored through both new and classic compositions. Songs of hope and love empower, eventually crystallizing into Tänään on hyvä päivä elää.
Petri Tiainen leads Koiton Laulu.
