Sirpa Ihanus and Lajos Bíró: Dialogue between bronze and paper
In the exhibition at the turn of the year, there are os display paper artworks and bronze sculptures of the Finnish-Hungarian artist couple, Sirpa Ihanus and Lajos Bíró.
Sculptor, painter and paper artist Sirpa Ihanus's works are characterized by abstract and organic approach, combining both archaic and a modern perspective. Paper, metal, wood, stone and other earthy materials create a lively and multidimensional language of design.
Sculptor Lajos Bíró, awarded with the prestigious Mihály Munkácsy Award, is one of the biggest names in Hungarian public art. The prolific artist has made more than 150 public statues both in Hungary and in neighboring countries. Gallery U's exhibition features bronze sculptures of various sizes, which also reveal the artist's strong sense of anatomy and proportions as well as aesthetics.
