Her music and lyrics revolve around themes such as childlessness, polyamory, grief, and love, bearing distinct echoes of film music, the diverse roots of folk music, and pop music influences.

Päivi Hirvonen gives a contemporary update to ancient stories and Finnish traditions, with a touch of Gothic mysticism.
