4 pm | Muuan Mies
Muuan Mies is a splendid rhythmic music band founded in Jyväskylä at the turn of the millennium, which combines old Finnish schlager, folk and rock in its sound. The Muuan Mies songs are written by the singer Ismo Puhakka, who’s also a doctor of philosophy, author of children’s book, Zen practitioner and a former concrete factory worker. The keyboards are played by Risto Ylihärsilä, known for his own band Risto, the drummer is Arwi Lind, known for the Helmi Levyt record label, the bass player is Mikko Leinonen, a bassist with strong reggae roots, and Lauri Sintonen, a young genius, plays the guitar.

We build our identity and engage with the culture around us through language. We also document this reality in language. Language provides us with the tools to build our own world. That’s also something that Asa has done.

Matti Salo, who started his career as Avain, always had his own gravity, which guided him to his own path. The classic debut Punainen tiili (Red brick) brought social realism and political pathos to the releases of the Rähinä Records label, but the real breakthrough in finding his own voice, language and world was Asa.

7 pm | Pambikallio
Pambikallio’s Finnish-language psychedelic pop has charmed audiences since the band’s first releases. The band popped into the indie music sky in 2022, evolving from a duo consisting of Pauliina Koivusaari and Lauri Kallio into an energetic five-member live band. Pambikallio’s hazy, glittering and resonant dreampop core is complemented with delightfully swinging, buzzing and psychedelic sounds.
