Rita Méndez lives in Centenario, in the heart of Uruguay. At night, she sells sex services in a local "whiskey bar" to foreign workers of a pulp mill. Then she decides to become an activist.

Oscar is Rita's father. He has abandoned his mother tongue and wants to speak only Finnish. The Finns Lumi, Taimi and Talo have arrived in Centenario because of the pulp mill, as well as Russian Symon. Each of them has had a reason to move to the other side of the world.

In the real world created by the global market economy, the paths of locals and foreigners cross. What kind of impression does it leave on them? Who among them will eventually sell oneself ‒ and at what price?
