The hottest name in Norwegian jazz for the first time at Savoy Theatre
Norwegian saxophonist and composer Marius Neset’s distinctive music, famous for its rhythmic changes, has captivated classical music audiences and jazz circles around the world. Brian Morton summed it up in Downbeat magazine in 2022: “He is not the future of European jazz, he is the present.”
The Savoy Theatre concert will feature compositions from the award-winning album HAPPY (2022), whose 70s and 80s funk spirit has received rave reviews from both critics and audiences. The Marius Neset Quintet will feature keyboardist Elliot Galvin from the UK, Kaspar Vadsholt from Denmark as well as pianist Magnus Hjorth and drummer Anton Eger from Sweden.
