Luca Bassanese is undoubtedly one of the stars of modern Italian pop music. He is a boisterous and opinionated singer-songwriter who takes his listeners on a journey towards a better future – a world of ecological utopia. Luca’s music is a sweet mix of Fabrizio De André, Goran Bregović and Manu Chao, with a worldview inspired by Fellini’s films.

Bassanese, inspired by the rich folklore of both Adriatic coasts, has already released 13 albums since starting his career in 2006. His musical cocktail with the masterful La Piccola Orchestra Popolare is a mixture of poetry, love stories fused with Italian folk music, furious tarantellas and the sounds of Balkan brass. The band’s music is intertwined with stories of everyday heroes, love and the small joys in life, while bringing a touch of Italian warmth to the stage at the Savoy Theatre.
