Masters of contemporary electronic music Loscil and Lawrence English at Savoy Theatre in February

Ambient musician Loscil and composer-sound artist Lawrence English will perform at Savoy Theatre in Helsinki on Thursday, 22 February to present their joint album “Colours of Air”. The unique concert experience by the acclaimed artists will be complemented by visual elements. The evening will be opened by local electro artist Lau Nau. Tickets for the concert went on sale at Lippu.fi on Wednesday, 22 November.

Loscil, the solo project of Canadian Scott Morgan, who performed to a sold-out crowd at the Culture Centre Stoa a year ago, has been involved in creating cinematic soundscape for over 20 years. Australian Lawrence English is known for his uncompromising and visionary work in electronic music, both as an artist and as the founder of the renowned record label Room40. Dubbed the dream duo of ambient music, the duo’s organically sounding, minimalist, ethereal and meditative soundscape of their March 2023 album “Colours of Air” draws its essence from the 100-year-old organ, whose hypnotic sound invites listeners to immerse themselves in a unique experience.

The evening’s opening artist Lau Nau, aka Laura Naukkarinen, is widely known as Finland’s most profiled maker of special music. Lau Nau, who has just released her 10th album “Aphrilis”, plays music that combines electroacoustic experimentalism, the traditions of folk music and echoes of classical contemporary music.

The event is part of the Here///Now concert series showcasing film music talent.
