Kyösti Mäkimattila and Leif Lindeman will embark on the 12-concert Requested Evergreens tour in spring 2024. The programme for the upcoming tour will be chosen by the audience.

“As someone who has performed a lot, you often find yourself thinking before and sometimes even after a concert about what the audience would like or would have liked to hear. Building a programme is a surprisingly difficult task when you have accumulated a long list of your own favourite songs over the course of your career. Now, Leif and I have chosen the title and the whole approach to the tour to give the audience the power to create the programme. Hence the name Requested Evergreens. And at the same time, we are feeling excited about how interesting this is going to be!”, says Kyösti Mäkimattila about the upcoming concert.

“My own guess is that the end result will be very diverse and expressive. It will be great to perform with Leif, and I promise that our performances will not be half-baked. What Leif and I have in common is that we both have a full-steam-ahead approach to music. Songs, singing and performing are in both of our blood, and it is easy to be on stage with someone who thinks the same way. A bundle of joy and a deliverer of dry humour, that is how we have been described,” Kyösti continues.

Kyösti and Leif will be accompanied by the IkiNostalginen Levyautomaatti orchestra conducted by Taisto Lunka and accompanied by Jani Luoma, Jouni Hannula, Jukka Tiirikainen and Pasi Rissanen.

“I am over the moon to be able to organise a concert tour like this. For years, Kyösti and I have been working together on various concerts and it has felt natural. Also, we have heard that we fit well together. Over a decade-long friendship and brotherhood can clearly be seen and heard from the stage.”

“The concert will be a cross-section of both our careers, which began decades ago. It will include the songs that are most important to us, and the audience can vote for the ones they like best. We will perform them with an orchestra conducted by Taisto Lunkka,” says Leif Lindeman, sharing his thoughts on the upcoming tour.
