Kannelmäki Block Party 3.0 – Fete Venete

On Saturday, 31 August 2024, Kannelmäki transforms into a party space during 10 am – 8 pm! Sitratori, Kanneltalo and the church park all provide free-of-charge events for everyone who’s interested.

This is the third run of the event. This is a free-of-charge, easy-to-join block party, which every resident can join and has a say in, if they so desire.

Its goal is to provide things to see and experience all forms of art and city culture for all senses at a central location, available for everyone. This event is intended to improve the district's attractiveness and vitality, as well as create positive movements and enable spontaneous feel-good encounters between people!

The Kannelmäki Block Party is an event that was borne out of a local resident’s idea that is guided by the block party committee that consists of local residents and local businesses.

KANNELTALO & CAFE STAGE
12–13 Interview with guest author Taina Latvala, interviewed by Tuulikki Kuurne. The subject of the interview is the book The Venetians (Venetians, 2018) and the author's work.
14.30–15 String Quartet Meliora

LIBRARY
The library’s Nalle mascot’s fairytale sessions will be held at 13–13.30 and 14–14:30 in the Tempo multi-purpose office. Come and listen to hear what Nalle is doing in the fall!

The Literary Kannelmäki bookwalk will be held at 14–16, departing at 14 from the steps of Kanneltalo. How has Kannelmäki been described in literature? Come for a few hours’ walk along the riverbank and to the Kannelmäki area. Authors will also be participating as surprise guests.

Dario Cabello: Metamorphosis – Assemblages
The works in the exhibition have been created from objects that others have abandoned, in which Dario sees a bleak beauty, thus giving new life to old things. We warmly welcome you to the Kanneltalo gallery to follow Dario's exhibition workshop on the last opening day of the exhibition on Saturday 31 August at 14–16.
