Stopping in Helsinki in his concert tour in Estonia and Finland, internationally renowned pianist József Balog gives a solo piano recital in Studium Catholicum. 

The concert marks the centenary of Hungarian composer György Ligeti, as the programme includes his piano pieces alongside Franz Liszt's adaptations of romantic compositions by Schubert, Chopin and Verdi, among others.

József Balog is one of the most refined pianists of his generation. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has given more than 1000 concerts in 25 countries of 3 continents in the most prestigious classical music festivals and concert halls.

József Balog’s world-class recordings gained significant international recognition. His album Transcendental Etudes became ‘record of the month’ in June 2015 on allmusic.com, one of the most prestigious classical music portals. His album French Collection was ranked among the 35 best solo albums in the world in 2020 and was nominated for Best Solo Album of the Year.
