Is there a possibility for a fair exchange of knowledge of two different realities? What should any foreign-born musician be aware of living in Finland and what knowledge can they offer enrich the diversity of the local music scene?
Amanda Kauranne is a musician, traditional singer, music journalist and Master of Music from Arts University Finland folk music department. Amanda has two homes – one in Vantaa, Finland and the other in the tiny Alps village of Cantoira, Italy. Currently Amanda is working on her bilingual solo piece about the folk music and traditions of Vantaa in Finnish and Swedish.
Spiros Delegos is a doctoral candidate of the DocMus Doctoral School at the Sibelius Academy Uniarts Helsinki, holds a Master’s degree in the field “Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology” from the University of Athens, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Patras. As a musician (since 1996), he has appeared at numerous musical venues, live concerts and festivals and has composed music for theatre.
