HOW radio: Global Club Nights – International School of Music Finland with Giedre Tabocchini

This afternoon, the topic of HOW radio’s Global Club Nights discussion is the role of education and the educator in the Finnish music scene along with the possibilities of musicians following the educator’s path.

We will focus on musicians with a foreign background and their opportunities for sharing their own heritage, creating diversity, and adding to the richness of the local traditions. We will also be discussing the International School of Music Finland’s vision to create an international and diverse musical community for expat families and others who are interested in experiencing a multicultural environment through high-quality music education.

ISM Finland was established in 2015 as Finland’s first English-speaking music school. Giedre Tabocchini is a Lithuanian pianist who has been living in Finland since 2008. This autumn, Giedre was appointed as the new ISM Principal.

Helsinki Open Waves radio, Caisa and the Global Music Department of Sibelius Academy present HOW radio: Global Club Nights, a radio discussion series focusing on the music industry in Finland from the perspective on intercultural collaboration.
