Gædlin
In the liminal spaces that lie between countries, eras, and genres stand Gædlin, a new Helsinki-based Global Folk ensemble. Hailing from the USA, Finland, and the Netherlands, respectively, and featuring a creative assortment of instruments, this unlikely quartet weave a mercurial combination of original folk songs, swinging dance tunes, darkly storied ballads, and traditional pieces from around the world.
Hugh Sheehan is a musician—multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer— from Birmingham, now based between the UK and Finland.
Hugh Sheehan: Shapes That Are Different
Shapes That Are Different is a collection of folk songs that contemplates shame, desire, and queer selfhoods. "Composed, Produced, Performed and Engineered by myself, the record calls into question many of the conflicts inherent to queerness."
