The Lynx Man tells the story of Hannu, a divorced man who has been injured in a workplace accident and now lives alone and hopeless on his family farm in western Finland. When Hannu finds a dead lynx by the roadside, he realizes that the lynxes he remembers from his childhood have returned to the area.

Soon, 23 cameras capture everything from moose to mice: wolves, deer, birds, otters, foxes, dogs, and lynxes. Hannu begins to learn about lynxes, their habits, habitats, relationships, and individual characteristics. He wanders through the forest at night, observing and waiting. Gradually, he realizes that the lynxes are also observing him.

The Lynx Man is a study of a symbiotic, interspecies relationship that makes us question ourselves: Where is the boundary between humans and animals? And between humans and nature?
